Quality Control Inspector

Job Summary

Work with Warehouse team members to manage and control incoming equipment received from manufacturer. Ensure testing of incoming equipment is done correctly and effectively. Reports any defects and escalates to Sorenson Engineering as needed within testing parameters. Also ensures testing of defective equipment returns as established. Update information in SDB to accurately reflect inventory changes. Works with Sorenson Test Engineering Manager as needed to ensure equipment and testing are acceptable. Assist Sales Warehouse manager as needed with additional projects and tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inventory Quality Control (IQC) of any equipment (ntouch video phones, ntouch camera units) that are received new from manufacturer and Keep up daily tasks testing equipment received.


• Keep up daily on defective returns by scanning into Excel and reassigning as needed through SDB.


• Process defective videophones as they are returned from the field. Must be able to effectively test and confirm the "defect" and create Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) to respective vendor.


• Responsible to clean units that are tested and good for re-use in field again.


• Maintain monthly defective VP report based on what was returned from the field.


• Know and keep up with all the policies and procedures for Inventory Quality Control testing and assignment.


• Works with other Warehouse Staff and UPS/FedEx personnel to ensure timely and accurate shipments.


• Execute those procedures in a timely and appropriate manner.


• Maintain a clean and safe work environment on a daily basis.


• Help as needed with processing shipping requests made by Warehouse Managers


• Show a willingness to accept and complete new tasks and assignments as needed


• Level 2:


• Work and communicate closely with Warehouse Manager at warehouse as well as Sorenson Engineering personnel and work with them to resolve any abnormalities or issues with equipment testing, as well as designing the testing process.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Travel Requirements

Travel Requirements:  Less than 25%

Education

Preferred:

• High School Diploma or GED


• Forklift certification is preferred but not required, will train.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• A qualified candidate will be very keen on details, and will be able to work through tasks with accuracy and efficiency.


• The candidate must have good typing skills as well as being adept at using Microsoft Office products, specifically Microsoft Excel.


• ASL background preferred but not required.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Able to sit/ stand for a long period of time in an office environment


• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components


• Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs
