Location: Tracy, CA (San Joaquin County)

The Michelle Martin Group is a trusted recruitment agency dedicated to connecting exceptional talent with outstanding opportunities. We are currently seeking a Quality Control Manager to support one of our valued clients.

Job Summary

The Quality Control Manager will direct and enforce the quality control program for federal construction projects. This role ensures that materials, workmanship, and construction procedures meet contract specifications, drawings, and government requirements. The QC Manager has the authority to stop work that does not meet these standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and document the Three-Phase Control process—Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up—for each definable feature of work.


• Maintain project quality control records, including daily reports, submittals, deficiencies, and test results, using RMS 3.0.


• Stop construction activities that do not meet specifications, present safety hazards, or use unapproved materials.


• Prepare daily Quality Control Reports, maintain as-built drawings, and assemble project closeout and commissioning documents.


• Review, approve, and track shop drawings, material samples, and technical data sheets before submission or use on-site.


• Coordinate and witness required field testing, including soil compaction, concrete strength, welding, and electrical testing, and maintain a testing log.


• Document construction defects in a rework log and track corrective actions through completion.


• Partner with the Site Safety and Health Officer to support compliance with applicable federal safety requirements and OSHA regulations.


• Lead weekly quality control coordination meetings with subcontractors and attend project progress meetings.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience designing and implementing fire alarm and mass notification life safety systems.


• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field is preferred. Five to ten years of direct quality control management experience on federal construction projects may be accepted in place of a degree.


• A current Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors certificate is required.


• Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills.

Site Security Requirements

Site access requirements may vary based on the facility and the work involved. The current solicitation does not require a Secret clearance or higher.
