Job Title:  Quality Control Technician

Position Summary:

This position is under the direction of Shift Supervisors, but will receive process direction/feedback from the Quality Lead and Production Planning and Scheduling Manager. This position is responsible for the activities of inspecting, testing, auditing and reporting on materials, processes, products and finished goods to ensure conformance with company specifications and quality standards using variable measuring instruments and techniques.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

•           Responsible for the testing of products and recording data     

•           Notifying management of non-conforming material

•           Write and prepare daily quality/product reporting       

•           Ensure all company safety standards are being utilized

•           Work within current production management system to help manage non-conforming product and inventory

•           Perform safety and quality audits

•           Record and save data in company database

•           Assists in training and/or re-training plant staff on correct quality

•           May be required to work as a Utility as needed (see Utility job description)

•           Other duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements:

•           High School diploma or equivalent

•           Eligible to work in the United States

•           Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen

•           Ability to work overtime when required/some weekends and holidays will be required; ability to rotate shifts

             (days/nights) every 5 weeks

•           Basic computer skills required; Microsoft Excel and Outlook experience preferred

•           Experience with product testing, past quality experience required

•           Ability to diplomatically work within a team environment

•           Auditing experience a plus

Safety Expectations:

• Safety is always the number one priority.  All actions taken will be conducted in the safest manner possible and without risking injury to yourself or others. 


• Follow all Safe Practices and safety policies and procedures.


• Report all accident, incidents, safety violations, near misses or unsafe conditions to your Supervisory IMMEDIATELY.  If any bodily fluid (bloodborne pathogens) are present, it must be properly cleaned by a trained employee.

• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices while in production areas


• Adhere to all GFSI standards policies and procedures in regards to product Safety, Quality and Legality
