Eaton\u2019s Electrical division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer. This role will be located in our Raleigh, NC. facility. This role is Hybrid 3 days in office, 2 days from home. \n\nThe Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting multiple new product development initiatives across the division, acting as the Quality functional core team member within the Eaton PROLaunch phase\u2011gate development process.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n * Develops focused and detailed project Quality Plans including activities and deliverables to ensure the integrity of the project and product.\n * Provides Lessons Learned feedback, input, data and deliverables to the new product development process including the project plan, validation, pFMEAs (Design and Process), and manufacturability review activities to facilitate continuous improvement.\n * Collaborates with cross functional project team members including Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Service and Operations to drive effective implementation of the Quality plan.\n * Monitors and reviews engineering designs and design file releases for compliance to Eaton and industry standards (Enovia).\n * Participates in and provides feedback to various design and cross functional reviews.\n * Manages critical high-risk components in accordance with division policy\n * Assures completion of First Piece Inspections (FPI) and performs First Article Inspections (FAI) including APQP/PPAP for all new components and assemblies.\n * Provides guidance, input and completes the pFMEA process in collaboration with the Manufacturing and Operations team.\n * Generates the product line Control Plan to be implemented by the Operations team to define and implement actions required at each phase of the manufacturing processes to assure compliance to requirements.\n * Provides guidance, inputs and assures completion of the design pFMEA in collaboration with the new product development and engineering team.\\\n * Monitors product issues identified (JIRA) during the PROLaunch process to assure product and process readiness for Gate Reviews and product launch.\n * Reviews DVT and validation reports to assure product compliance and readiness for release.\n * Collaborate with Quality team members, including Supplier Development, Customer Quality and Manufacturing Quality as required to achieve Quality Plan and project goals\n * Communicates status of the Quality activity in terms of readiness for formal Gate Review approvals and guidance to proceed to the next phase of the PROLaunch process.\n * Provides critical inputs into the cross functional review (CFR) to assure team readiness for project phase/ gate transitions\n * Completes or assures completion of manufacturing readiness reviews at all primary manufacturing locations prior to production.\n * Partners with Customer Quality to monitor initial product shipments and field performance to support investigations and root cause identification assuring closed loop short term and long-term corrective/ preventive actions to:\n * Improve warranty CONC performance and achieve divisional goals for NPD\n * Improve product line field performance and achieve divisional goals for NPD\n * Improve overall customer satisfaction\n * Captures lessons learned and improvement opportunities as part of continuous improvement.\n * Supports the Quality Director with regional and global quality strategies and initiatives related to New Product Development Quality.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited educational institution\n * Minimum three (3) years of Quality Engineering or Engineering experience\n * Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area.\n\n\n\nPreferred\n\n * Master\u2019s Degree\n * Six Sigma Belt (Green, Black) certified \n * ASQ CQE or CMQ/OE Certification\n * Knowledge of new product development, design, validation, manufacturing and test\n * Knowledge of electrical power quality and distribution products and systems\n * SAP Experience \n * Project Management experience\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\nPosition Criteria:\n\n * Ability to demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills and methods -i.e. Six Sigma, A3, 5-Why, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems, evaluate root cause and identify corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement initiatives.\n * Experience with new product development and associated processes\n * Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills with the ability to lead projects across functions and organizations.\n * Ability to work in a matrix organization, in virtual teams (across different locations), and cross-cultural environments \n * Ability to effectively demonstrate verbal and written communication skills\n * Ability to multitask, complete projects with tight deadlines\n * Position involves significant internal and external customer contact requiring strong communications skills in critical situations\n * Position involves supporting teams and product lines across multiple locations in the Raleigh NC area\n\n\n\n#LI-JM3\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
