This position will work within the Indianapolis Metro region in a hybrid capacity. 

The Quality Improvement & Patient Safety Advisor is a mission-critical, regional role responsible for leading quality improvement initiatives with a strong focus on reducing hospital readmissions across the Indianapolis Metro region. This individual will spend much of their time analyzing data, managing and interpreting dashboards, extracting information from multiple data sources including the electronic health record, and partnering with clinical, operational, quality, and executive leaders to identify opportunities for improvement. 

The role is highly collaborative and meeting-intensive, requiring someone who can effectively present data, facilitate discussions with leadership teams, implement evidence-based best practices, and lead performance improvement projects from conception through execution. Success in the role will be measured by the ability to understand readmission best practices, translate them into actionable strategies, drive measurable improvements, develop countermeasures when performance gaps are identified, and influence stakeholders across a highly matrixed healthcare environment. 

 

Minimum Candidate Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Requires 5-7 years of healthcare, healthcare quality and/or process improvement/facilitation experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (LSSGB) is required within 18 months of hire date.
  • Clinical licensure is preferred.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality  (CPHQ) is preferred.
  • Large system or regional improvement experience is preferred.
  • Clinical experience is preferred.

 

Core Competencies

  • Serves as a catalyst and facilitator for quality improvement and patient safety activities. 
  • Partners with leadership, providers and staff to design and implement strategies for value improvement opportunities. 
  • Reviews and interprets patient care information from the medical record and other data sources to identify quality of care issues. 
  • Transforms facts into actionable information for improvement. 
  • Provides expert consultation for leaders, regions, hospitals, committees, and individuals to support the delivery of high value care. 
  • Leads performance improvement teams. 
  • Facilitates quality meetings providing expertise on national quality programs, problem identification and resolution, quality improvement processes and tools and other patient care activities.
