Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and advance the quality program for an established and growing manufacturer serving the defense and aerospace markets.

This position will have ownership of the company's quality management system and will be responsible for maintaining AS9100 and ISO 9001 registrations, supporting regulatory and customer requirements, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement, and ensuring products consistently meet engineering and customer specifications.

The Quality Manager will work closely with engineering, production, suppliers, customers, and executive leadership while leading and developing the quality team.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the company's certified Quality Management System (QMS)
• Support continued compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001
• Coordinate registrar certification, surveillance, and recertification audits
• Manage the internal audit program and quality documentation
• Lead management reviews and quality improvement initiatives
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
• Investigate internal and customer-reported quality issues
• Track quality metrics, identify trends, and develop improvement plans
• Manage nonconforming material, customer complaints, and product returns
• Support new product introduction, design reviews, validation, and qualification activities
• Evaluate manufacturing, inspection, and testing processes for compliance and effectiveness
• Partner with engineering and operations to improve process capability and product quality
• Identify and reduce quality risks involving products, processes, and suppliers
• Supervise, mentor, train, and develop quality personnel
• Establish departmental objectives and performance expectations
• Report quality performance, audit results, and improvement activities to executive leadership
• Serve as a primary quality contact for customers, suppliers, registrars, and regulatory representatives

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive quality experience within a manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of supervisory or quality leadership experience
• Hands-on experience managing a certified Quality Management System
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality system requirements
• Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, SPC, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and quality assurance principles
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with AS9100
• AS9100 or ISO internal auditor or lead auditor credentials
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or another related technical discipline
