Job Description:
Performs a variety of technical and quality-related functions in support of calibration efforts, including physical calibrations of equipment or coordination of calibration activities with outside vendors. Coordinates/monitors/maintains necessary metrics, procedures, controls, and/or programs to assure compliance/conformance to regulatory, customer, and company requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
- Establish calibration specifications and methods for laboratory equipment.
- Schedule calibration activities.
- Coordinate external vendor PM/calibrations and contracts
- Process vendor PM and Calibration Work orders
- Schedule Preventative Maintenance procedures for internal equipment.
- Manage equipment transfers between locations and departments, ensuring correct ownership is maintained.
- Support equipment procurement, including capital equipment
- Decommission unused equipment as applicable.
- Maintain the electronic records associated with the existing calibration system and ensure that this system complies with all QSR requirements.
- Coordinate all nonconformance issues such as status reports, bad actors, delinquencies, and NCRs.
- Establish qualification/validation specifications for applicable internal equipment.
- Support CAPA requirements.
- Support internal/external Audits.
- Develop and lead process improvement projects.
- Advise instrument owners/departments on calibration related issues.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or an Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- ISO/IEC17025 competency
- Knowledge in calibration systems and processes.
- Familiarity with AS and ISO requirements.
- Ability to operate a standard personal computer.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage activities in order to meet pre-determined deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while keeping management well informed of activities.
- Proficient in the use of various software applications (such as Word, Excel, Project, Access)
