Job Summary
Provides physics services related to the planning and delivery of therapeutic radiation treatment in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription. Provides technical leadership including clinical set-up expertise to radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists. Performs quality assurance checks according to NC state requirements and industry standards for all department equipment. Coverage duties may include on-site and remote coverage at multiple facilities within the Atrium Health network.
Department Specific Summary:
Atrium Health, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, has more than 900 care locations throughout North and South Carolina as well as Georgia and is the largest health care system in the Carolinas. Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute (LCI) provides patients with access to nationally renowned physicians and state-of-the-art treatments at over 25 cancer care locations, including 9 radiation therapy centers. Interested candidates would be joining an LCI Physics practice consisting of 32 physicists and dosimetrists supporting clinical operations and leading clinical innovation.
Our Northern Division Radiation Therapy Centers - LCI Cabarrus Radiation Therapy and LCI Stanly Radiation Therapy - are equipped with Varian Trilogy and TrueBeams. The practices are a part of a shared ARIA/Eclipse and Mim Maestro databases. LCI Cabarrus Radiation Therapy has active SBRT, SRS, prostate brachytherapy and HDR programs. A full complement of QA tools and technologies are available. Research opportunities in motion management, SBRT/SRS planning and delivery and optical surface monitoring are available for interested candidates.

Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent to moderate heavy lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying in excess of 100 pounds. Requires frequent walking, standing, stooping and reaching. Manual dexterity required. Heavy concentration with computers. Environment is climate controlled. Exposure to radiation, chemicals, pathogens and patient body fluids.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Masters Degree in Medical Physics or equivalent field of study. Board Certified in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics by the American Board of Radiology or its International equivalent preferred. 3 years experience as a Radiation Medical Physicist preferred.
