Job Description - Rainbow Blossom Store Manager- New Albany Market

Rainbow Blossom was started in 1977 by Rob and Pumpkin Auerbach and is managed today by their daughter Summer Auerbach. We are so proud to have been a thriving part our Louisville community for so many years!

Store Manager Job Description


The Store Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the store, including employee tasking, cash handling, operational compliance, and ensuring consistent and excellent customer service at all times. The Store Manager provides support for and accountability of a team of cashiers, stockers, and department managers, while ensuring that all employees are fully trained in all necessary responsibilities. The Store Manager is responsible for making sure the store is a safe and inviting environment for staff to work in and customers to shop in.


The Store Manager reports to the Operations Manager. This position is a full-time, exempt position


Requirements:



  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • 3+ years' experience in customer service and retail management.

  • An associate or bachelor's degree

  • Must have great communication skills by showing the ability to listen, ask questions, and provide clear instructions.

  • Must be comfortable hiring, training, providing feedback, holding staff accountable and terminating staff when necessary.

  • Must be able to motivate and lead the team, maintaining store morale.

  • Must be able to handle multiple demands in a calm and orderly manner, addressing each issue according to its priority.

  • Must be able to put together a plan and follow through consistently on commitments.

  • Must be comfortable evaluating reports to provide feedback and accountability to department managers.

  • Must be comfortable providing constructive feedback to employees based upon job performance.

  • Must be able to provide excellent customer service, handling any questions, concerns, or complaints in a timely and appropriate manner.

  • Must be able to provide excellent customer service, going above and beyond for the customer each time.

  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage store expenses to ensure the profitability of the store and the company.

  • Must feel comfortable providing training to store staff, using all available tools to ensure they are fully trained in their positions.

  • Must complete regular audits of the store and each department to maintain operational excellence.

  • Must complete weekly schedules, making sure to stay within labor budgets.

  • Must complete daily schedules, ensuring all staff are assigned appropriate tasks and kept on track throughout the day and are following assigned break schedule.

  • Must complete bi-weekly payroll, ensuring staff are paid accurately for their time.

  • Must complete reviews for all staff members, providing appropriate feedback as needed to develop staff members.

  • Must be able to delegate responsibility for the operation of the store while unavailable or off work.

  • Expected to order supplies, as needed for the store.

  • Expected to step in and out of any role in the store to maintain optimal operation.

  • Expected to maintain operational compliance of the store with the support of Operations.

  • Maintain safety standards in the store at all times for employees and customers.

  • Must be comfortable resolving questions, concerns or complaints brought up by customers and staff in a way that resolves the situation, leaving the customer satisfied.

  • Expected to accomplish any task assigned to them by the Operations Manager, as needed.


This list of job responsibilities is considered a very general outline of the position. This position is expected to learn the intricacies of the position and do whatever it takes to get the job done, ensuring the successful operation of the store and of Rainbow Blossom.


This position will require you to lift up to 20 pounds often and 50 pounds occasionally. This position will be mostly indoors in a climate-controlled environment, with occasional outdoor exposure, which could consist of hot and cold temperatures and potential exposure to wind and precipitation. This position will be expected to stand and walk often, to sit and squat or kneel occasionally, and to climb rarely.
