Position Purpose

As a Shift Supervisor in our Distribution Center, you will play a critical leadership role in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and service standards are achieved.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will supervise and develop a team responsible for receiving, storing, selecting, loading, and shipping products that support our stores and customers. You will partner closely with warehouse leadership, transportation teams, vendors, and internal business partners to maintain efficient workflows, inventory accuracy, food safety standards, and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment and is passionate about developing high-performing teams.

This role is on-site at the Distribution Center in the Natomas area of Sacramento, and final candidate must reside in CA.

What You'll Do & How You'll Make a Difference

Lead Distribution Center Operations

You'll ensure the efficient daily operation of an assigned warehouse department while maintaining high standards for productivity, quality, and safety.

• Direct and oversee the daily activities of receiving, storage, selection, loading, and shipping operations
• Monitor production performance and ensure work is completed accurately and within established timelines
• Balance workloads and coordinate staffing resources to maintain efficient operations
• Identify process improvements that support productivity and service goals
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, operational standards, and regulatory requirements

Develop and Support Team Members

You'll build and maintain a strong, capable team through coaching, training, and performance management.

• Supervise, train, coach, and develop assigned team members
• Establish priorities and communicate expectations clearly
• Conduct performance discussions and provide ongoing feedback
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
• Ensure adherence to safety, sanitation, and operational policies

Ensure Inventory Accuracy & Product Quality

You'll help maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure products meet company quality standards throughout the supply chain process.

• Oversee receiving activities and ensure products are accurately entered into warehouse systems
• Verify product quality, temperatures, and proper product rotation
• Monitor inventory levels and identify slow-moving, excess, or damaged inventory
• Communicate inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and vendor-related issues
• Support inventory control initiatives and inventory adjustment processes

Drive Safety, Compliance & Operational Excellence

You'll champion safe work practices and maintain compliance with food safety and warehouse standards.

• Ensure compliance with established sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety requirements
• Maintain required operational and compliance records
• Monitor loading and selection activities to minimize product damage and maximize accuracy
• Oversee auditing functions and labor standards programs to ensure established objectives are achieved
• Foster a safe, organized, and productive work environment

Collaborate Across the Business

Success in this role comes from building strong relationships and maintaining effective communication with key partners.

• Partner with transportation, inventory control, purchasing, and warehouse leadership teams
• Maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal customers
• Communicate operational issues and recommended solutions proactively
• Support company initiatives and special projects as assigned

Must Haves

• High School Diploma or GED 

• 3-5 (three to five) years of warehousing, distribution, logistics, or related operational experience 

• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred 

• Knowledge of distribution center operations, warehouse procedures, inventory practices, and labor standards

Individual compensation will be based on the candidate's qualifications, including experience, knowledge, skills, and demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of the position.
