Job Description - Real Estate Lending Advisor

Real Estate Lending Advisor

Help members turn homeownership goals into possibilities.

Starting Pay: $32.01 hourly; non-exempt

You know a mortgage is more than an application and a closing date. It’s a first home, a fresh start, or a next chapter, and the person navigating it needs someone who listens, explains the options, and follows through.

At First Alliance Credit Union, our mission is simple: We show up. We listen to your story. We provide possibilities. We’re looking for a Real Estate Lending Advisor who brings mortgage knowledge, a drive to grow business, and a commitment to helping members make informed decisions.

What You’ll Do

You’ll build lending relationships and guide members from application to closing. Your work will combine loan production, personalized service, and community connection.

  • Grow your lending pipeline. Identify opportunities, follow up on inquiries and referrals, and work toward established production goals.
  • Guide members with confidence. Listen to their financing needs, explain mortgage options and terms, and keep them informed throughout the process.
  • Keep loans moving. Maintain complete, accurate files and partner with processors and underwriters to resolve outstanding items and support timely closings.
  • Build relationships beyond the branch. Connect with real estate professionals, community organizations, and referral partners to create new lending opportunities.
  • Share your knowledge. Help members understand the home financing process and participate in homeownership education and community events.
  • Work as a team. Collaborate across First Alliance to connect members with additional resources and deliver dependable service.

What You Bring

  • At least three years of experience in mortgage lending or a related financial services role.
  • A two-year college degree or completion of relevant specialized certification, licensing, or vendor training. A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and real estate lending practices.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain applicable mortgage loan originator registration through NMLS.
  • Strong organization and follow-through—you can manage multiple loan requests while keeping details and deadlines in view.
  • Clear communication and the ability to make complex lending information understandable.
  • Confidence developing referral relationships, identifying opportunities, and working toward production goals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mortgage lending software.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

How You’ll Show Up

Our values. Passion, Persistence, and Presence, guide how we serve members and work together. In this role, that means taking initiative, staying engaged when a loan needs extra attention, and making sure members feel heard and supported.

If you enjoy building business and helping people navigate one of life’s biggest financial decisions, we’d love to hear from you.
