Job Description - Real Estate Paralegal


Summary:

For over 40 years, Dean Mead has been providing exceptional legal services to businesses and individuals across Florida. Dean Mead is seeking a full-time Real Estate Paralegal, based out of our downtown Orlando office (named a “Coolest Workspace” by Orlando Weekly).

Candidates must have at least 3 years’ experience as a transactional paralegal supporting multiple attorneys, preferably in a commercial real estate practice area. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and excited to collaborate within a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct title, survey, UCC, lien, and zoning searches and reviews
  • Draft and revise purchase agreements, leases, and closing documents
  • Manage due diligence and transaction checklists
  • Coordinate with clients, title companies, lenders, and government agencies
  • Prepare and organize closing documents and attend closings
  • Record legal documents with appropriate agencies
  • Create and maintain closing binders and transaction files
  • Perform legal research related to real estate regulations and laws
  • Track critical dates and ensure timely completion of transactional tasks
  • Other billable and non-billable projects and general administrative duties, as assigned by supervisors

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple attorneys.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to manage matters from start to finish.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal certification (Preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Paralegal in a relevant practice area (Required).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF (Required)
  • Proficient in legal document management and timekeeping softwares (Required). Experience with iManage preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:

  • This position reports in-person to the Orlando office. Hybrid work arrangement considered after a successful onboarding period.
