Job Summary:


The Receiving & Inventory Technician is responsible for managing the receipt, inspection, and documentation of all incoming shipments and supplies for the organization. Working closely with the supply chain, procurement, and clinical departments, the Receiving & Inventory Technician ensures that deliveries are accurate, undamaged, and meet organizational standards. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the continuous flow of medical supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for patient care and operations.


Hours:



  • 1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday 

  • Day Shift


Essential Job Functions: 



  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage

  • Match packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices to confirm order accuracy and compliance with organization procurement guidelines

  • Document discrepancies, shortages, or damages and report them to the appropriate personnel

  • Log and document incoming goods in the organization’s inventory or supply chain management system

  • Communicate with vendors, supply chain staff, and department representatives to resolve discrepancies or issues with shipments

  • Properly label and prepare items for storage or distribution

  • Coordinate delivery of received items to appropriate departments or storage locations in a timely and organized manner

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of medical supplies and equipment in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the organization’s inventory management system

  • Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory audits

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between inventory records and physical counts

  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and support inventory control initiatives as needed

  • Act as the lead resource for the assigned area, coordinate workflow and ensure departmental goals are met

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving area to promote a safe and efficient work environment

  • Follow all safety, security, and infection control procedures during the receipt and handling of supplies

  • Operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment as required

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



  • Quality assurance and accreditation standards

  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations, patient confidentiality laws and patient rights

  • Effective English communication in verbal and written format

  • Quality work including attention to detail and accuracy

  • Basic computer proficiency

  • General receiving and inventory process knowledge

  • Carry out customer service standards

  • Prioritize tasks effectively through managing workload based on urgency and importance

  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Continuously learn and improve through staying up to date on job specific trends, policies and new technologies

  • Successfully demonstrate organization-wide performance review competencies


Qualifications: 



  • Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required

  • Pallet jack Certification within one (1) month of hire

  • Previous receiving experience in a hospital or healthcare environment preferred
