Under the general supervision of the Fire Marshal, the Records Prevention Coordinator provides general customer service support to the Fire Prevention Division and performs a variety of general clerical tasks, including responding to customer complaints and inquiries.
This role serves as a key point of contact between the Fire Prevention Division and the public, supporting permit processing, inspection and public education scheduling, records management, and compliance reporting to City staff and state agencies.

Work Environment
This position works in a standard office environment within the Fire Prevention Division, primarily supporting front-desk customer service and administrative functions.
Physical Demands
This is sedentary work, requiring the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, with only negligible force required frequently, to move objects such as files and office materials. The role involves sitting most of the time. This position also requires close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, review documents, and work at a computer screen, along with the ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone and to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Occasional field work may be required. In the field, the employee must be able to move about the worksite, including uneven surfaces, ascend and descend ladders, and observe inspections and acceptance tests. Field work may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise and construction site hazards.
Mobility
Employees in this role must be able to move about the office to file records, greet visitors, and access equipment, and must be able to remain seated for extended periods while performing data entry and computer-based tasks.
Environmental
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office setting with no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
