JOB DESCRIPTION:
General Statement of Duties: Work collaboratively as part of the Community Programs and Services team to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate adult recreation programs, events, and community activities from concept through completion. Coordinate program and event logistics, including preparation, on-site operations, participant support, and follow-up. Monitor programs, facilities, and event sites to promote safety, accessibility, and quality programming. Build relationships with participants, partners, instructors, contractors, and community members to help ensure programs and events are welcoming and responsive to community needs. Support the continued growth and improvement of Willamalane adult programs and events.
Distinguishing Features of the Class: Employees in this classification plan and implement year-round adult programs, services, and events for Willamalane across multiple facilities and parks. Work is performed under the general direction of the Adult Programs and Services Supervisor and is evaluated based on outcomes, goals, feedback from staff, community, contractors, and through direct observation. While this position does not typically include supervisory responsibilities, it may serve as a lead worker, providing direction and guidance to staff, instructors, contractors, volunteers, and community members.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge: Facilitative program development; knowledge of program planning, organizing, and implementation; familiarity with planning special events and special projects; problem-solving skills; human relations skills and public speaking.
Skills: Proficient technological skills including; MS Office, Google Drive, database management and the ability to learn new technology.
Abilities: Communicate effectively with all ages; work independently with accountability; excellent written and verbal communication skills, establish and maintain satisfactory work relationships with staff, volunteers, participants, community groups, and the public; represent the District in a professional manner within the community. Attention to detail; ability to speak with ease publicly to groups of all ages and sizes; ability to work a variety of shifts, length of shifts and days of the week as event/program requires. Manage multiple programs, adult programs and events, priorities, and deadlines; collect and use feedback and data to evaluate services; exercise sound judgment; adapt to changing operational needs.
Physical Demands Of The Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach for or manipulate objects. The employee will be on their feet and mobile for the majority of the workday and must be able to stand for extended periods of time (4–12 hours per shift). This position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 65 pounds as part of event setup and takedown. Items may include, but are not limited to, canopies, tables, chairs, benches, sound equipment, supply totes, and barricades. Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Depending on the event, the employee may be required to work outdoors for the duration of a shift, including in adverse weather conditions. Noise levels vary by event and may range from low to high; some tasks may require the use of hearing protection. Minimum Experience And Training: Associate degree or two years of experience in adult programs and events or customer service required.

Personal Protective Equipment: Nitrile gloves for the administration of First Aid. Eye and ear protection as needed.
Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of or ability to obtain current First Aid and CPR/AED certificates, Oregon Food Handlers Card, and OLCC Servers Permit. Valid Oregon Drivers License required with a safe driving record. Because this job is considered safety sensitive, a drug screen test will be required prior to employment.

Hours/Shift
Part time (25-39 hrs/wk)
Hours vary depending on programming needs, typical hours are M-F 11am - 6:30pm
