Reefer Technician - Fremont, NE

Position Overview:

The Reefer Technician is a vital member of the Maintenance and Repair team within RMG. The Reefer Technician's primary responsibility is the maintenance and repair of generator sets and refrigeration containers in order to keep the facility in working order. Other job duties include performing pre-trips, training new hires, and other operations as needed. The Refrigeration Department is fast paced and requires individuals to effectively communicate when working with heavy machinery. The Reefer Technician must maintain a safe yet efficient mindset when maintaining facility equipment to best assist and support with the successful onward movement of customer cargoes.

This position will learn directly from the experienced Reefer Mechanics. Some experience that will 

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Asses, document, and fix equipment including generator sets and refrigeration containers
2. Perform pre-trips on containers and generator sets
3. Perform routine checks to prevent equipment failures
4. Adjust and replace faulty parts to ensure equipment functionality and safety
5. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and standards
6. Maintain daily records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections
7. Reports on priorities and work plan to the Refrigeration Superintendent
8. Perform daily housekeeping and preventative maintenance duties
9. Perform other duties within other departments as needed

1. 1 year experience with HVAC or Refrigeration maintenance preferred
2. Excellent team player
3. Desire to learn and grow technical skills from more experienced mechanics
4. Experience placing work orders
5. Experience maintaining a parts inventory
6. Diagnostic and problem-solving skills
7. Strong communication skills
8. Experience generating reports in different software systems
9. Ability to perform physical demanding tasks and work in various environmental conditions
10. Willingness to teach new team members
