Referral Center Specialist (admin/clinical role)

This specialist position supports the admissions process by providing accurate and timely duties as assigned.

What you will do:

• Assist with data entry for referrals
• Answer phones in a timely manner to avoid call going into voicemail
• Reaches out to referral sources, physician offices, and families to gather information in order to process referrals
• Scan records into EMR, creating a new patient file 
• Review and complete the admission audit checklist for each new admission
• Conduct follow-up calls with those referrals who did not come onto the program

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to carry up to 25 pounds of supplies and/or office materials
• Excess hours at a computer screen and sitting through the scheduled shift

Preferred Education & Experience:

• High school diploma required; some college preferred
• Experience and comfortability with computers and working within EMR systems
• 1-3 years experience providing customer service support
• Experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting a plus 
• Previous customer service background/skills preferred

Hours: 40hours/week; (4) 10hr shifts; Rotating Schedule (8:00am-6:00pm)

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Pay: $22-25 per hour
