Job Title: Echo Tech- Hosp\n\nUnit: Echocardiology\n\nShift: 7A-5:30p-could be 5 days , 8 hour shifts\n\nFacility: MVH\n\n**Sign On Bonus Eligible-up to $30K**\n\nIndependently performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ultrasound directed interventional procedures utilizing proper techniques and protocols. Works under their scope of practice and in accordance with registry in the operation of equipment. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the Ultrasound Department. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of duties in order to maintain equipment in good working condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. May have on call responsibilities.\n\nEssential Duties and Functions:\n\n * Performs US procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates Ultrasound studies for technical image quality.\n * Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the US procedure.\n * Performs daily and weekly QC as required.\n * Practices sterile technique as required.\n * Assists Cardiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.\n * Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction\n * Assesses learning needs and educates patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educates patients about exam.\n * Ensures that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, performs clerical duties when necessary, verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.\n * Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.\n * Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.\n * Proficient to provide quality scans for high acuity procedures, including but not limited to: Mitral Clip, Watchman, TAVR, TMVR, Impella, valvuloplasty, myomectomy, \u0026 pericardiocentesis.\n\n\n\nOur Technologist participate in the following exams and procedures:\n\n * Transthoracic echocardiograms\n * Transesophageal echocardiograms\n * Exercise and Dobutamine echocardiograms\n * Structural Heart Program (TAVR, TMVR, Mitral-Clip, Watchman Device, Valvuloplasty, Myomectomy)\n * ECMO, Impella, Transplant\n * Pericardiocentesis\n * Specialized protocols (strain, 3D assessment, contrast)\n * Other Duties \u0026 Functions:\n * Other duties or functions to meet patient, departmental, or organizational needs as assigned\n\n\n\nEducation Required: Associate degree \n\nAdditional requirements:\n\nType of degree: Allied Health\n\nArea of study or major: Diagnostic Medial Sonography\n\nPreferred educational qualifications: Associate degree or graduate of an accredited program\n\n \n\nLicensure/Certification/Registration: \n\nRegistry in practiced specialty is required as approved by ARDMS: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography (RDCS by ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCI. \n\nCPR Certification required\n\n Active member of ARDMS or CCI in Ultrasound \n\nExperience\n\n Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience\n\nPreferred experience: 6 to 12 months of clinical experience in Ultrasound\n\n \n\nKnowledge/Skills: \n\nProficient in performing diagnostic procedures and obtaining diagnostic images for physician interpretation \n\nProficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) \n\nProficient in CCW/CCI and Image Storage\n\n Advanced US applications\n\nProficient in scanning high acuity patients\n\n \n
