Position Summary
The Regional Director of Environment of Care (EOC) is responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and operational support for Environment of Care, Life Safety, and facility operations across an assigned region of Freedom Healthcare hospitals.

The Regional EOC Director is responsible for ensuring that all facilities within the assigned region maintain a safe, secure, compliant, and well-maintained environment for patients, employees, and visitors. This position requires regular travel between assigned hospitals and serves as the primary regional resource for Environment of Care, Life Safety, facility maintenance, and related operational functions.
The Regional EOC Director provides oversight and guidance for facility operations related to maintenance, physical plant operations, environmental services/housekeeping, dietary, transportation, life safety, emergency preparedness, and facility safety. The Regional Director works closely with Hospital Administrators, facility EOC leaders, Quality, and Corporate leadership to identify operational and regulatory risks, establish corrective action plans, and ensure identified deficiencies are corrected and sustained.
The position is responsible for supporting compliance with applicable CMS, state, federal, accreditation, Life Safety Code, Environment of Care, and organizational requirements. The Regional EOC Director conducts routine facility assessments, reviews required documentation, monitors regulatory compliance, supports survey readiness, and ensures consistent EOC processes and expectations are maintained throughout the assigned region.
A key responsibility of this position is providing leadership, training, and accountability to facility-level EOC and maintenance teams. The Regional Director ensures preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, repairs, safety rounds, and corrective actions are completed accurately and within established timeframes.
The Regional EOC Director also participates in applicable Safety/Environment of Care Committees, Hazardous Materials and Waste activities, emergency preparedness initiatives, regulatory survey activities, and performance improvement efforts throughout the assigned region.

Regional Oversight
The Regional EOC Director is expected to maintain regular visibility and presence at each hospital within the assigned region. The position requires the ability to prioritize needs across multiple facilities and respond appropriately to regulatory concerns, Life Safety issues, facility emergencies, operational deficiencies, and other EOC-related matters.
Regional assignments may be adjusted based on organizational growth, operational needs, or changes in facility structure.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, healthcare administration, safety, construction management, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience in the building trades, facility operations, Life Safety, or Environment of Care within a healthcare setting may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in healthcare facilities management, Environment of Care, Life Safety, maintenance, or related operations, preferably within a hospital, behavioral health, psychiatric, forensic, or nursing facility setting.
Previous experience overseeing multiple facilities or providing regional operational oversight is strongly preferred.

Travel Requirement
This is a regional, multi-facility position requiring frequent travel between all hospitals within the assigned region.
Overnight travel will be required depending on facility location, regulatory needs, projects, surveys, emergencies, or other operational requirements.
Additional travel to hospitals outside of the assigned region or to Corporate meetings may be required based on organizational needs. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly are essential functions of this position.
You will be housed in one of the region's hospital and be required to travel to the other 2 locations. This is not a remote position.
