Regional Operations Trainer

The Regional Operations Trainer supports operational excellence across all processing and production locations by training, coaching, and developing team members on processing workflows, production standards, safety requirements, and operational procedures. This role partners with operational leadership to promote consistency, efficiency, quality, and accountability through hands-on training, process audits, performance coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives. As the primary field training resource for processing operations, the position helps ensure standardized processes, best practices, and productivity expectations are effectively implemented and sustained across all locations.

Essential Duties:

• Lead the training, coaching, and development of Store Managers, Assistant Managers, Leads, and store team members to strengthen operational performance and leadership effectiveness. 
• Identify, develop, and support internal talent and succession planning initiatives to build leadership bench strength. 
• Develop, deliver, and maintain training programs, operational procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials. 
• Conduct store visits, operational audits, and performance assessments to evaluate compliance with company standards, operational procedures, productivity expectations, and customer service requirements. 
• Analyze audit results and operational performance data to identify gaps and partner with store leadership to develop, implement, and monitor corrective action plans. 
• Serve as the primary resource and subject matter expert on company policies, procedures, standards, and best practices. 
• Partner with the Retail Senior Leadership to implement operational initiatives, standardize processes, and ensure consistent execution across all store locations. 
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, customer experience, and financial performance. 
• Facilitate leadership meetings, workshops, and training sessions focused on operational execution, accountability, communication, and performance management. 
• Support store openings, remodels, leadership transitions, and other operational or organizational change initiatives. 
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with store leadership and field teams to support operational excellence and continuous improvement. 
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. 
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information. 
• Ensure compliance with Goodwill Industries of New Mexico policies, procedures, CARF standards, HIPAA requirements, confidentiality standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

The employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and see, talk and hear. Frequently required to sit, walk, and stand. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift/move up to 25 lbs. May be exposed to outside weather conditions. Mental demands are characteristic of support function jobs. Specific vision abilities include color vision, depth perception, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

Minimum Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for the position. Individuals must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test. Individuals must have a valid New Mexico driver’s license, liability insurance, insurability under the agency insurance carrier, dependable vehicle and a clean driving record.    

• Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of retail management experience, preferably in a multi-unit environment.
• Experience in thrift, resale, nonprofit, or other high-volume retail operations preferred, including merchandise processing, sorting, pricing, production management, inventory control, and sales floor operations.
• Demonstrated understanding of retail operations, employee training, operational compliance, and workforce management practices.
