In your future role as a Regional PSRA Manager, Americas, you will

The Regional PSRA Manager provides product and substance regulatory support to R&D, ISC, marketing and sales organizations at Nouryon. This entails compliance activities, advice for the development and launch of new offerings and/or into new markets with focus on the applicable region (EMEA, Americas or Asia). The position leads the proactive management of new regulatory trends and issues in accordance with business and customer needs for the above region. Additional responsibilities include:

• Manage product regulatory compliance with all relevant national and international chemical control laws for the actual region for all Nouryon’s businesses.


• Proactively manage product regulatory developments and coordinate advocacy and lobbying activities in the region.


• Proactively communicate to businesses regarding product regulatory trends, issues and developments.


• Develop, drive and deliver on annual company PSRA plans for the region including development of processes and standards and performing improvement projects to increase performance.


• As Regional Business Partner being responsible for, together with segment business partners, coordinating and prioritizing support to the businesses.


• Manage Product Regulatory Compliance.


• Accountable for managing region specific registrations and compliance services delivered by the regional team, providing regulatory expertise and registration support for the regional markets.


• Manages and coordinates the registration and regulatory support for the Businesses and ISC in a timely and cost-efficient way. Proactively supports the businesses and R&D to help establish the company’s long-term product development priorities

Proactively Manage Product Regulatory Developments:

• Coordinates and participates in selected advocacy and lobbying activities for the region including industry associations and company networks and working groups.


• Develops and maintains relations with internal and external suppliers and experts to stay abreast of new trends which may translate to new regulations.


• Summarizes key topics and shares relevant information within Nouryon.


• Represents Nouryon in selected regional advocacy activities.
  
  

Proactively Communicate Regulatory Developments to Business:

• Key contributor to cross-functional teams, issue advice and/or customer and manufacturing support at request or at own initiative.

Develop, Drive and Deliver on Annual PSRA Plans for the Region (including development of processes and standards and performing improvement projects):

• Oversees key development projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.


• Drives best practices for compliance, processes and ways of working.


• Prioritizes activities in accordance with business needs and optimizes efficiency.

Regional Business Partner (being responsible for coordinating and prioritizing support to the businesses):

• Together with business partners coordinating and prioritizing tasks in the Solutions Tool.


• Responsible for coordinating the PSRA support to the businesses within Nouryon in the region including contributing to SLA and following up on quality, cost and business satisfaction.


• Provides strategic input and advice to business line management teams by analyzing business impact of legislative changes to support the business and product development activities.

The position has a large level of autonomy; leading their organization through the overarching PSRA strategy. This role will have authority to make decisions on the following without direct approval from higher manager/supervisor;

• Internal work processes, interface with stakeholders.


• Communication plans to businesses.


• Team activities, development and trainings of employees.


• Resource management and prioritization of work in agreement with other Regional/Global PSRA managers.

We believe you bring

• > 15 years of experience from leadership position within chemical industry preferably within regulatory affairs, environmental and R&D roles.


• PhD or min MSc in Toxicology, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or related field.


• Profound knowledge of regulatory requirements and its influence on business and able to communicate impact of regulations to business.


• Proven excellent leadership skills.


• Change agent.


• Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills. Able to network and cooperate with people inside and outside Specialty Chemicals.


• Have a wide regulatory and industrial network.


• People management, experience of managing senior experts and global teams.


• Pro-activity, able to think ‘beyond the protocol’ in problem solving and present solutions.


• Strong analytical and organizational skills, able to work independently.


• Strategic and visionary mindset to contribute to the development of the own function and the department.


• Flexible and adaptable to the needs of a changing work environment.


• Fluent in written and spoken English.


• Good understanding of legal aspects and structure of regulations.
