Micron\u2019s Registered Apprenticeship Program offers an \u201cearn and learn\u201d model with outstanding on\u2011the\u2011job training so you can directly apply coursework to real work. \n \nAs a Facilities Water Services Technician Apprentice at Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho, you will gain foundational knowledge of semiconductor water purification and waste treatment systems while learning preventative/corrective maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and continuous improvement practices. \nAt the end of the apprenticeship, participants will earn a U.S. Department of Labor and industry\u2011recognized credential. \n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Complete required safety training and perform all work in accordance with safety policies.\n\n * Partner with operations technicians and engineers/technicians to complete daily priorities and support learning cycles.\n\n * Receive on\u2011the\u2011job training and perform preventative and corrective maintenance on assigned water/wastewater and supporting semiconductor facilities equipment.\n\n * Use mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to troubleshoot equipment issues and support resolution of equipment\u2011related problems.\n\n * Provide troubleshooting support, address root causes, and improve reliability by investigating chronic problems and identifying solutions.\n\n * Participate in area continuous improvement / ongoing improvement programs and contribute to problem\u2011solving efforts.\n\n * Maintain documentation, including observations, work performed, and current equipment/tool status.\n\n * Adhere to all apprenticeship guidelines, protocols, and additional instructions from the program manager and program partners\n\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\n * High School Diploma or GED.\n\n * Willingness and ability to enroll in our related technical instructor for schooling\n\n * Basic to intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Teams) and Zoom for virtual meetings.\n\n * Solid time management and prioritization skills.\n\n * Reliable and consistent written and verbal communication skills\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Students enrolled in (or prior exposure to) Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Wastewater Treatment Plant Technology, Instrumentation/Automation programs.\n\n * Mechanical proficiency with the ability to understand and troubleshoot mechanical systems.\n\n * Experience with preventative maintenance and equipment/automotive repairs.\n\n * Ability to troubleshoot intermediate problems and identify and resolve root causes.\n\n * Ability to multi\u2011task and work effectively in a fast\u2011paced, team environment.\n\n * Must be flexible to work any shift and rotate shifts as needed (Micron will work with apprentices to support class schedule as needed).\n\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nEquipment Technician Apprentice 1\n\nRelocation Level: TBD\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
