âThe Dietitian is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing nutrition care plans for patients in an acute care hospital environment. This role involves conducting nutritional assessments, developing individualized meal and diet plans, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal nutritional support. The Dietitian also provides education to patients and families on dietary needs and lifestyle changes, maintains accurate documentation, and ensures compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform nutritional screenings and assessments for patients.
Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans.
Monitor patient progress and adjust diet plans as needed.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to support patient care goals.
Educate patients and families on therapeutic diets and healthy nutrition practices.
Ensure compliance with hospital, state, and federal dietary regulations.

Requirements
Minimum Bachelors (R).
Completion of an ACEND accredited program in dietetics
Registration with the Commission on Dietetic
Registration (RD credential), & NYS certification as a Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) (R).
Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy (required).
