Registered Dietitian (Per Diem)

As a Registered Dietitian for Aurora San Diego you will create nutrition plans to improve the health and physical conditions of patients, analyze patients’ health status, goals and dietary restrictions, track patients’ dietary intake and progress, and educate patients on how to maintain a balanced diet. You will also assist in menu analysis via data entry into nutritional software.

*Pay Range: $30/hr. to $35/hr.

Work Schedule: Flexible/Variable

Responsibilities:

Analyze medical records and interview hospitalized patients in order to perform nutritional assessments utilizing specialized knowledge and skills.

Document assessments, care plans, and follow-up encounters in the patients’ medical record.

Educate and counsel patients ages 5 and up, including caregivers, on necessary dietary modifications or dietary concerns.

Review patients’ meal selections as needed, communicate with Dietary staff regarding diet modifications and patient intake at meals.

Attend interdisciplinary team patient rounds as required.

Provides information to the medical team, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists.

Communicate with nursing and other staff regarding patient behaviors, dietary habits, and progress.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field
• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• One year experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support ) Certification for Healthcare Providers following the American Heart Association guidelines
