Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (RN)

Job Overview

As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) at Deaconess Union County Hospital, you'll be on the front lines of care, making fast, high-impact decisions that truly matter. Every shift brings variety, urgency, and the opportunity to care for patients during some of their most critical moments.

You'll provide direct patient care while utilizing strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and teamwork to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate treatment in a fast-paced emergency setting. In this role, you will help coordinate individualized plans of care, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and provide education and support to patients and families throughout their emergency care experience.

What You'll Do

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced Emergency Department.


• Use clinical judgment and critical thinking to assess, prioritize, and respond to changing patient conditions.


• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.


• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.


• Collaborate closely with providers and interdisciplinary team members to ensure timely, effective patient care.


• Educate patients and families to support understanding of treatment plans, recovery, and discharge instructions.


• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.


• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and compassionate care.

What You Bring

Required:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or a compact licensure state.


• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within established timeframe.

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).


• Previous Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Acute Care nursing experience.


• ACLS and/or PALS certification
