Registered Nurse II

Summary

The Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an experienced registered nurse for its cardiology practice located in Fannin Tower. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing nursing-level care via telephone and MyChart in order to assist patients with clinical questions, prescription management, and antithrombotic medication management. Experience with INR sliding scales is highly preferred. 

This position is located in the Texas Medical Center.

Job Duties

• Provides support to patients via telephone and MyChart with clinical questions and concerns.


• Manages prescription refills and prior authorization requests.


• Assists patients with medication and dosing of antithrombotic medications.


• Documents encounters in the patient medical record.


• Enters orders as appropriate on behalf of physicians.


• Communicates with external providers regarding orders and care of patients.


• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.


• Two years of relevant experience as a licensed Registered Nurse (RN). 


• Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.


• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
