Registered Nurse - Labor/Delivery

Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM + Every 3rd weekend

Join our team as a nurse in the Mother/Baby Unit, caring for mothers, newborns, and gynecological patients in a family-centered environment. Our Designated Level II Plus Maternal Child department includes a 17-bed Mother/Baby Unit, eight Labor and Delivery beds, an Obstetrical Emergency Department, and a 10-bed Neonatal Special Care Unit. With approximately 800 deliveries and 400 OB ED visits each month, nurses gain experience caring for a diverse patient population.

Mother/Baby nurses rotate to the Core Nursery and attend all deliveries, working closely with Labor and Delivery and Neonatal Special Care teams. We follow AWHONN staffing guidelines, support mother-baby rooming-in as the standard of care, and foster a collaborative environment focused on providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns.

• Assess patient and family needs, provide education, and coordinate referrals to ensure continuity of care.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care utilizing the nursing process, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practice.
• Monitor patient conditions, apply critical thinking skills, and make independent clinical judgments to support positive patient outcomes.
• Accurately and promptly document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Delegate and coordinate patient care activities while providing guidance and support to other healthcare team members.
• Promote patient safety and education by utilizing age-appropriate teaching strategies, preventing errors and infections, and supporting patients and families throughout their care journey.

Education:

• Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
• Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must possess and maintain ACLS
