Under the direction of the unit Administrator, the Manager of DP/SNF independently provides holistic, individualized care using the Nursing Process for patients routinely seen on the unit, demonstrates an advanced level of clinical competency, Nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care and independently performs general and unit specific clinical skills.
Is responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs.
Possesses knowledge of growth and development and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for all patient groups.
Is responsible for the planning, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and documenting of Administrative and Management duties pertinent to the Department.
Serves as a Clinical Resource person for staff, new orientees and students during the shift.
Coordinates staffing needs with the Administrator and/or the Staffing Coordinator/Nursing Supervisor.
Acts as a Liaison for Administrator/Staff related to customer/physicians complaints/problems.
Assists staff/physician in problem solving.
Ensures resolution of problems and notification of Administrator.
Facilitates problem solving and promotes cooperative communication.
Accountable to ensure that staff maintains crash cart, defibrillator, and glucometer checks per policy.
Coordinates essential staff functions and Unit resources during crisis situations.
Actively participates in achieving and maintaining department compliance with all state, federal and third party regulatory agency standards.
Is accountable for maintaining your department's "Survey Ready" status always.
Adheres to OSHA Guidelines/Standard Precautions as described in Hospital policy.
Demonstrates participation in Patient Care Conferences.
Represents appropriate practice and directs others to follow or reference Hospital policies, procedures or Standards of Nursing Care.
Requirements
Must have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California, BSN preferred.
Must have and maintain current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care.
A national certification will be identified and the time frame to complete the certification will be approved by the respective Leadership within 90 days of accepting the position.
3-5 years of clinical experience and/or 3-5 years of management experience required.
