As a PACU Registered Nurse with OrthoArizona, you will get to:
Monitor post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia.
Measure and record patients' vital signs.
Closely observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.
Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia.
Update charts, patient files, and medical records.
Collaborate with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitating timely specialized interventions.
Provide comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members.
Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.
Attend required meetings.
Maintain strictest confidentiality.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Is punctual for all shifts and obtains authorization for overtime or schedule changes from Supervisor.
Observe policies regarding breaks, meals, time off, and calling in sick.
Prioritize work activities based on clinical demands
Demonstrate behavior that protects the safety of self/others and of the facility and equipment.
Keep work area clean and unobstructed.
Provide monitoring of patient progress between Physician or PA visits.
Participate in Professional Development activities and maintain professional affiliations/certifications.
Qualifications:
Graduation from accredited school of nursing
Valid Arizona State License
Maintain CPR certification
Working knowledge of computer programs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of orthopedic examination, diagnostic, and medical procedures
Knowledge of medication
Complete and maintain HCP training
Understand/Perform training on practice management software
Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
RN License
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 3-year experience in a healthcare setting
