Job Summary and Responsibilities






As a Registered Nurse, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.

 

Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. This 32 bed telemetry monitored unit houses PCU level of care with some medical/telemetry overflow as well. This is our primary stroke unit that also manages respiratory and cardiac patients. This unit is staffed at a 1:3-4 patient ratio consistent with national standards of care.

 

Essential Duties

  • Provides continuous cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition and intervention.
  • Initiates and titrates multiple, complex cardiac related infusions at higher doses.
  • Manages high flow & bipap patients.
  • Manages patients with acute neurological/neurosurgical events. 








Job Requirements






  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing upon hire 
  • 1-2 years med/surg experience or
  • New graduate with completion of senior practicum in a specialty area i.e.: Critical Care, ED, PACU or, for those with no previous PCU/ICU experience, must successfully complete the PCU residency or the critical care residency program
  • Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months 


Preferred

  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting, upon hire 
  • Previous PCU/ICU experience or
  • Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute
  • Certified Neuroscience RN
