Registered Nurse (RN) – Detention Center Location: Detroit, MI Employment Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, and Contingent Positions Available Shifts: Midnights 8, 10, 12-hour shifts
About the Role We are seeking Registered Nurses (RN) to provide medical care to individuals housed at a Detention Center based in Detroit.
The role offers a unique opportunity to provide medical care in a secure environment while supporting individuals with diverse physical and behavioral health needs.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, RNs will assess, treat, and manage urgent, emergent, and chronic conditions in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 nursing coverage as part of a rotating schedule.
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and re-assess detainee medical needs each shift.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Deliver on-site emergency care, including CPR and use of AEDs, pending emergency response.
Assist with alcohol and drug detoxification protocols as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all care provided.
Collaborate with physicians, mental health staff, and facility personnel to ensure continuity of care.
Adhere to all established clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Comply with all security, safety, and confidentiality protocols.
Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan.
Current BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; correctional or emergency nursing experience is highly preferred.
Ability to perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
