As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across our residential programs.
This role combines clinical expertise, advocacy, education, and leadership — making a meaningful impact on both the individuals we serve and the staff who support them each day.
What You’ll Do
Clinical Care & Advocacy
Perform physical assessments and evaluate individual healthcare needs
Consult with physicians and healthcare providers to develop comprehensive care plans
Advocate for individuals during medical appointments and coordinate follow-up care as needed
Ensure individuals receive necessary medical, dental, psychological, and pharmaceutical services
Counsel and educate individuals and families regarding treatment plans and healthcare needs
Leadership & Staff Support
Provide medication administration and healthcare training to agency staff
Supervise and support LPN Medical Case Managers, CNAs, and CHHAs
Provide clinical guidance, feedback, and support to interdisciplinary team members
Assist in directing team meetings and monitoring healthcare documentation processes
Program Oversight & Quality Improvement
Develop and coordinate individualized care plans and update them as needed
Monitor health trends and implement quality improvement initiatives related to medical care
Assist in developing and updating policies and procedures related to clinical care and licensing standards
Observe and provide medical input regarding individuals attending Vocational Programs when intervention is necessary
Communication & Compliance
Maintain open communication with clinical teams, Directors, healthcare providers, families, guardians, and regulatory agencies
Prepare and submit required reports and documentation
Report medical concerns promptly to ensure timely resolution
Cooperate fully with DDD, DHS, DCF, and all regulatory inspections or investigations

What We’re Looking For
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current NJ Registered Nurse (RN) License required
Valid NJ Driver’s License with no more than 5 points
Minimum 1 year of current medical/surgical experience
Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Must complete all required DDD pre-service trainings and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications
Must pass all required background and registry checks (CHRC, CARI, Central Registry, drug screenings)
Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including lifting/moving 50+ lbs as needed
