Registered Nurse Surgery

A healthcare facility is seeking a Registered Nurse – Surgery to join its perioperative team and provide high-quality patient care throughout the surgical process. This position works collaboratively with surgeons, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to support safe, efficient, and patient-centered surgical services.

Responsibilities

Provide perioperative nursing care while supporting patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Assess patients prior to surgery and provide education to patients and families regarding procedures and the perioperative process.

Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.

Collaborate with surgeons, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members to promote safe patient outcomes.

Apply the nursing process, clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills to assess and monitor patient conditions.

Document patient care, assessments, and changes in patient status accurately.

Participate in surgical safety processes, including briefings, time-outs, debriefings, and universal protocols according to hospital policies.

Respond appropriately to patient care needs, emergencies, and changes in clinical condition.

Requirements

1+ years of recent OR RN Scrub/Circulating experience in the OR required.

Acute care experience is required.

Registered Nurse Diploma.

(RN) Registered Nurse, State of KS License.

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Schedule

Full-time, day shift with rotating weekends and on-call requirement.

Shifts are 8 or 10 hours with a 6:45 AM start time.
