Registered Nurse-Atlantic Health OP Radiology @ 111 Madison Ave-Full Time: Mon-Fri 9a-5p

The Outpatient Radiology Nurse provides safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures. The nurse supports patient flow and serves as a clinical resource for IV access, hydration therapy, contrast safety, and emergency response.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform IV insertion and port access for outpatient imaging procedures.
• Administer and monitor IV hydration as ordered in preparation for or following imaging studies.
• Assess, recognize, and manage contrast reactions, following established departmental protocols and emergency procedures.
• Initiate appropriate emergency response, including escalation to the medical team and activation of 911 when indicated.
• Maintain and manage the department’s allergy/contrast allergy protocol list, ensuring accurate documentation and communication of patient allergies and required precautions.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after imaging procedures and identify changes in condition requiring nursing intervention.
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, providers, and other members of the healthcare team to promote safe and efficient patient care.
• Provide patient education regarding IV procedures, hydration, contrast administration, and post-procedure instructions.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and patient safety requirements.

• Current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred/required based on departmental standards.
• Previous radiology, outpatient, emergency, or procedural nursing experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, IV access, communication, and emergency response skills.
