Are you a compassionate, dedicated nurse who enjoys working with children and making a meaningful impact?

The Chimes School is seeking a skilled, caring School Nurse (RN/LPN) to join our team! This is a chance to use your nursing expertise in a supportive educational environment where student health, safety, and well-being come first.

As our School Nurse, you'll play an essential role in supporting students with diverse healthcare needs, helping them remain healthy, safe, and ready to learn.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a valued member of our school community, you will:

• Provide nursing care to students and staff experiencing illness or injury.


• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.


• Conduct health assessments, monitor vital signs, and evaluate student healthcare needs.


• Perform daily student temperature checks upon arrival.


• Provide specialized nursing care, including G/J tube management, feeding pumps, and urinary catheterization.


• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student illnesses, injuries, and health concerns.


• Maintain accurate and timely health records and incident documentation.


• Collaborate with school leadership to address student health and safety concerns.


• Provide supervision and guidance to Certified Medication Technicians (CMTs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), as needed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Qualifications:

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Maryland.


• Current CPR certification.


• Experience administering oral, topical, ophthalmic, and G-tube medications.


• Knowledge of G/J tubes, feeding pumps, gravity bags, and urinary catheterization.


• Strong clinical assessment skills, including comprehensive head-to-toe assessments.


• Ability to work independently, exercise sound clinical judgment, and respond confidently to healthcare situations.


• Ability to meet background check requirements.


• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least one year of direct nursing experience.


• Previous experience providing direct care in a behavioral healthcare setting.


• Experience working with children or individuals with specialized healthcare needs.
