Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Systems Engineer 2 (Reliability and Fault Diagnostics Manager) to join our diverse team of professionals. This leadership position will be full time in the office and located in San Diego, CA, El Segundo, CA, or Palmdale, CA.\n\nThis role will support the Product Support EI\u0026E (Engineering Integration and Execution) and lead the Reliability and Fault Diagnostics team and SOW (Statement of Work) execution. This role will be responsible for coordinating the priorities between multiple OU (Operating Units), ensuring high quality engineering analyses, talent development and management, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and CAM (Control Account Manager) duties for both teams. The Reliability team is responsible for analyzing/determining predicted reliability at various system levels, characterizing field failures, determine trending factors, and work with adjacent engineering functions to propose and prioritize improvement efforts. The Fault Diagnostics team is responsible for analyzing operational logs and maintenance logs to continuously improve the maintainer helping tool to optimize maintenance activity and minimize downtime.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Support the Product Support EI\u0026E Director and OU Program Manager objectives\n\n * Serve as the technical authority on Reliability and Fault Diagnostics\n\n * Provide technical leadership, direction, and mentoring to engineering team members\n\n * Coordinate with other Reliability and Fault Diagnostics leaders across the company to ensure sharing and alignment of best practices\n\n * Maintain cognizance of shifting best practices, procedures, and USG guidance documents to generate opportunities and influence SOWs and ensure Northrop Grumman is a leader in the fields of Reliability and Fault Diagnostics\n\n * Coordinate with other Engineering, Field Support, and other functions as needed to ensure the teams generate high quality and technically sound analyses that drive leadership/customer action\n\n * Support SMTs (Supplier Management Teams) as necessary to address relevant technical issues with supplier systems\n\n * Formally present technical status and solutions to leadership and the customer\n\n * Act as the CAM for Reliability and Fault Diagnostics work packages as needed\n\n * Support and shape proposal activities\n\n\n\n\nWe are looking for self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented people to help us grow our services and become even better at what we do.\n\nOur Leaders at Northrop Grumman live our values daily and encourage our teams to do the same. You deliver excellence, strive for continuous improvement, and respond vigorously to change.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in STEM field (Science Technology Engineering Math) and at least 9 years of related experience in Reliability, PHM, and/or another related experience or 7 years with Master\u0027s Degree in STEM\n\n * Must have an active government Secret Clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)\n\n * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a government Top Secret Clearance, Special Access Program (SAP), and SCI clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company\n\n * Willing and able to travel up to 25%\n\n * US Citizenship is a requirement for employment\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Current active in-scope government Top Secret Clearance with V2 special access\n\n * Experience using reliability analysis software (Reliasoft preferred)\n\n * Relevant experience in adjacent logistics support elements such as Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) \u0026 Maintenance Planning, Modeling \u0026 Simulation (ModSim), Support Equipment Engineering (SEE), Prognostics \u0026 Health Management (PHM), Supportable Low Observables (SLO), Obsolescence Management, Training \u0026 Training Systems, Technical Data, Support Hardware, Fleet \u0026 Field Support, and Product Support Management\n\n * ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer\n\n * Previous experience driving process changes/improvements and leading multi-functional teams on complex tasks, with strong communication and presentation skills\n\n * Demonstrated financial management skills including development and control of program budgets, schedules, Estimate at Complete (EAC), and the ability to recognize and capture program changes\n\n * Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint\n\n * Previous U.S. Military experience with operations and/or aircraft maintenance background\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
