Associate Financial Representative

This position is located in the Northwestern Mutual – Minnetonka District Office, located at 601 Carlson Pkwy Ste 300, Minnetonka, MN 55305 with flexible weekday in person / hybrid virtual hours between the hours of 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. 

The Associate Financial Representative serves as the primary link between our internal departments, corporate office, and the clients we serve. This individual helps ensure and coordinates an organized practice. This role’s seamless and time-sensitive execution is critical to a memorable client experience. Successful completion of tasks and responsibilities empowers the team to focus their energy and efforts on revenue-generating activity while fostering and developing impactful, enduring client relationships. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

• Insurance Support:  
  
  
  
  • Facilitate and assist in the creation of financial plans, insurance proposals & data gathering
  
  
  • Work with clients to complete non-securities insurance related applications
  
  
  • Process Additional Purchase Benefit (APB) and term conversions
  
  
  • Actively participate in conservation of existing non-securities business
  
  
  • Review insurance applications, conversions and policy changes for completeness and accuracy
  
  
  • Arrange medical, paramedical and any exams necessary for underwriting
  
  
  • Process incoming non-securities related insurance service requests from clients (address changes, bank change information, loan requests and ISA service inquiries)
  
  
  • Manage client communication including correspondence, notes, files, and maintain compliant client records
  
  
  
  


• Manage digital presence:
  
  
  
  • Customize advisor’s website on a regular basis to attract prospects and communicate the value proposition of the practice 
  
  
  • Leverage and maintain e-marketing through E-manager (Newsbrief, Ecards, Campaigns, etc.) to stay top of mind with existing clients and enhance client experience
  
  
  • Maximize social media presence to drive engagements by posting frequently and leveraging social media campaigns
  
  
  
  

• Calendar management


• Keep up to date on software system enhancements, new products and compliance changes/opportunities

• Participate in learning opportunities

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree required in finance or related field


• Minimum of 2 years of financial operations and/or financial planning experience preferred  


• MN State Life, Accident and Health licensed, or ability to gain licensing within 30 days of employment


• Client Resource Management experience preferred
