Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and submit accurate dental claims to insurance companies or government programs.
Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility for dental services.
Process claims for reimbursement and ensure timely follow-up on denied or unpaid claims.
Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile billing statements.
Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim discrepancies, rejections, or denials.
Assist patients with billing inquiries and resolve payment issues.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and billing standards (e.g., HIPAA, ICD-10, CDT).
Maintain detailed records of billing activities and update patient billing information regularly.
Essential Skills
Strong knowledge of dental billing and coding, including ICD-10, CDT, and HCPCS codes.
Familiarity with dental billing software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
Strong problem-solving skills for resolving claim issues and payment discrepancies.
Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a remote setting.
Solid understanding of healthcare privacy laws, such as HIPAA.
