Director of Psychiatry Services

Overview: We are seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist to serve as a part-time clinical leader and consultant for our psychotropic medication management program. This remote role offers meaningful impact with a limited, predictable time commitment. The psychiatrist will support PMHNP providers on complex cases, participate in program strategy discussions, assist in provider training, and may provide PMHNP supervision where permitted by state law. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Provide clinical consultation and case support to PMHNPs, focusing on complex psychopharmacology, safety, and treatment planning. 
• Assist with creation of policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal policy and regulation guidelines. 
• Participate in occasional Microsoft Teams meetings on provider training, program strategy, growth, and business development. 
• Offer PMHNP supervision where allowed; complete supervision agreements, periodic chart reviews, and required documentation. 
• Adhere to HIPAA and all applicable federal/state regulations, scope-of-practice rules, and supervision standards. 

Qualifications 

• MD or DO with active, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state; additional state licenses in TX, OK and KS preferred. 
• Board certification in Psychiatry (ABPN) required. 
• Minimum 3 years post-residency experience in adult outpatient psychiatry preferred. 
• Experience collaborating with or supervising PMHNPs/APRNs is a plus. 
• Strong, concise clinical communication; timely, professional responsiveness. 
• Reliable remote setup for secure telecommunication and documentation. 

Time and Workload 

• Part-time, flexible, fully remote. In person meeting would be rare and mutually agreed upon. Possible example could include for an executive/board meeting or if requested to assist in a large corporate meeting for business development 
• Work is primarily episodic consult support for PMHNPs (brief reviews, messages, or short calls). 
• Occasional, elective Teams calls for strategy and program development. 

Compensation 

• Base retainer: $3,000 per month. Covers the first 6 hours each month ($500/hour equivalent or $36,000 annualized) 
• Additional time: $250 per hour, capped at an additional 14 hours per month. 
• Telemedicine Consultation with patient: $75/new pt, $60/follow up 
• Optional PMHNP supervision: $750 per provider per month.  

 Example capacities (subject to state rules and change):  

• Oklahoma: up to 6 PMHNPs  
• Texas: up to 7 APRN/PAs  
• Kansas: no statutory limit. 

Compliance Notes 

• Supervision availability, ratios, and documentation requirements vary by state and may change; this role will align with current state law, payer requirements, and organizational policy. 

Physician is responsible for maintaining active licensure, DEA (if applicable), board certification, and required CME. 

1099 independent contractor.
