Perform commissioning activities, including design reviews, preparation of test procedures and reports, and on -site testing of UPS systems and related equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start -up, and field modifications when not involved in commissioning projects.
Collaborate with technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment maintenance or operation issues.
Participate in the development of Methods of Procedures (MOPs) to ensure efficient and standardized processes.
Consult with supervisors on unusual problems and developments, seeking guidance and support when needed.
Work from a home -based location, coordinating activities with the team and maintaining effective communication.
Provide exceptional customer service and maintain high -quality interactions with clients.
Prepare detailed Field Service Reports promptly and accurately.
Utilize hand tools and test equipment proficiently to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
Offer proactive recommendations to clients to enhance system performance and reliability.
Be available for on -call duty and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by project demands.
Travel within the regional coverage area is expected, and national travel may be necessary for emergency response situations.
Qualifications:
Preferably 3 -5+ years of experience in UPS field service with the ability to troubleshoot down to the component level on various equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDU’s, STS, etc.
Strong knowledge of UPS equipment manufacturer specifications and general computer hardware and software applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and exceptional customer relations abilities.
Resourceful, independent, and able to work with initiative to complete tasks effectively.
Ability to handle physical requirements of the job, including repeated bending and lifting of up to 100lbs during certain procedures.
Familiarity with third -party UPS systems (Emerson/Liebert/Vertiv, APC/MGE/Schneider, Eaton/Powerware/PDI) is advantageous.
Technical degree from a reputable institution (DeVry, Lincoln Tech) is a plus.
Prior experience in the military or as a military veteran with electrical/mechanical expertise is highly valued (Navy nukes: EMN, ETN, MMNs, SeaBees, Army: Power Generation, Air Force: Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, etc.).
Possession of a clean driving record.
Willingness to travel regionally and nationally for emergency situations.
