IT Asset & License Management Consultant (Infrastructure Focus)

Location: Remote preferred, ideally based in or near New York
City for occasional onsite meetings
Duration: 3–6 month contract with possible extension

Overview

We are seeking a consultant
with strong communication skills and a foundational infrastructure background
to assist with software license and subscription management across cloud and
on -prem environments. The consultant will help create visibility into current
software assets, usage, consumption, and costs while identifying optimization
and rationalization opportunities.

This is a hands -on
consulting engagement ideal for someone with experience in IT asset management,
software licensing, infrastructure operations, or SaaS administration.

Responsibilities

• Assess
  and organize existing software/license inventory data from a rudimentary
  database
  
• Create
  and maintain a centralized inventory of software licenses, subscriptions,
  and cloud services
  
• Track
  utilization, consumption, ownership, renewal dates, and spending trends
  
• Identify
  optimization and rationalization opportunities across platforms and tools
  
• Example:
  overlap between collaboration tools such as Slack and Microsoft Teams
  
• Review
  cloud and non -cloud licensing environments for redundancy and under utilization
  
• Provide
  recommendations for governance, reporting, and ongoing management
  processes
  
• Recommend
  a long -term solution/tool set for license and subscription management
  
• Work
  with infrastructure, operations, procurement, and business stakeholders as
  needed
  
• Present
  findings and recommendations clearly to leadership and technical teams
  

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Experience
  with IT asset management, software licensing, SaaS management, or
  infrastructure operations
  
• General
  understanding of cloud platforms and enterprise infrastructure
  environments
  
• Strong
  analytical and organizational skills
  
• Excellent
  verbal and written communication skills
  
• Ability
  to work independently and interact with both technical and non -technical
  stakeholders
  
• Experience
  with inventory tracking, reporting, or optimization initiatives
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience
  with tools such as ServiceNow SAM, Flexera, Zylo, Snow, or similar
  platforms
  
• Background
  supporting enterprise infrastructure or cloud operations
  
• Experience
  with Microsoft licensing and SaaS optimization initiatives
  
• Consulting
  experience preferred
