Job Description - Nurse Practitioner - Women's Weight Loss/Obesity Medicine
The Nurse Practitioner for this role is a key clinical provider within our Women’s Metabolic Health program, delivering comprehensive, specialized care to women across the lifespan. This role focuses on the interconnected dimensions of metabolic, mechanical, and mental health, providing evidence-based, patient-centered care that empowers women to achieve sustainable wellness.
This is a full-time (40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, no weekends) virtual position. 7 clinical hours/day (M-F) with 1 admin hour/day.
Practices under established NP Standard Procedures, consistent with organizational policy and all applicable state and federal regulations.
Conducts age-appropriate, full-scope assessments, including detailed histories and physical examinations, in alignment with departmental protocols.â¯
Performsâ¯intake assessments for women at risk or with Overweight or Obesity and/or symptomatic menopause.â¯
Provides patient education on obesity as a chronic, multifactorial condition, emphasizing long-term health strategies.
Utilizes motivational interviewing to promote a healthy lifestyle, including habit change and formation in the areas of nutrition, activity, sleep, and stress management.
Ordersâ¯diagnosticâ¯testsâ¯and prescribes medicationsâ¯within scope of practice and patient care protocols.
Provides virtual and phone-based patient consultations; collaborates with clinical teammates to ensure high-quality, seamless care throughout the continuum.
Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural,â¯spiritualâ¯and cognitive status, patient/family education, family dynamics, and patient advocacy.â¯
Consults with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary partners as indicated by patient presentation.
Participates collaboratively with physicians and other clinicians to support quality outcomes, care consistency, and adherence to clinical pathways.
Reviews medicalâ¯recordsâ¯forâ¯follow-upâ¯or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.â¯
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.â¯
Applies all safety and risk-management principles, ensuring patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
Responds effectively in urgent or emergency situations, following established protocols and documenting appropriately.
Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.â¯
Demonstrates an exceptional service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.â¯
Uses clinical technology, EHR systems, and telehealth tools proficiently to document, track, and communicate care.

Qualifications:
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MS, MSN, or DNP).
Board certification in FNP, AGNP, or WHNP.â¯
Current, unrestricted Indiana APRN Prescriptive Authority license and DEA.
Current enrollment/participation with Indiana Medical Insurance Payors.
MSCP Certification from the Menopause Society preferred or the ability to obtain within a stipulated timeframe as needed.
1+ years’ Obesity Medicine experience required, including managing GLP-1 medications and education and coaching on lifestyle changes.
Virtual practice experience highly preferred.
Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity from OMA or TOS/AAPA a plus.
Resides in Pennsylvania

Pay range: $95,000-$115,000 USD
