Position: Professional Civil Engineer, Charlotte Location: Charlotte, NC (fully remote through mid 2027, then hybrid) Salary: $125,000 to $165,000 DOE + excellent benefits
About the Opportunity Our client has over 100 years of experience specializing in land surveying and engineering nationwide. They offer civil engineering, land surveying, environmental science and permitting, landscape architecture, and construction management and inspection services. They are looking for a Professional Civil Engineer licensed in NC to join their growing team in Charlotte. You will manage all engineering and technical disciplines for the projects you oversee. The role is fully remote through mid 2027, then moves to a hybrid schedule in the Charlotte area.

What You'll Be Doing
Manage complete development projects, including grading, drainage, water retention, retaining walls, sewer and wastewater, road and transportation, site layout, and utilities
Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects
Evaluate surveys, field notes, maps, aerial photographs, and other materials to identify project constraints and the best approach for completing projects on time and on budget
Complete drainage calculations for storm sewer design, hydraulic systems, detention ponds, and water quality measures
Lead a design team in correcting redlines and plan revisions
Research and review ordinances, technical reports, and municipal, state, and federal codes to ensure compliance
Communicate with city, county, and state entities to ensure all requirements are met
What We're Looking For
Valid PE license in NC. Multiple state licenses are a plus
Ability to manage projects independently in a remote setting now, and to work hybrid in the Charlotte area starting mid 2027
Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, and regulatory approvals
Knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics to prepare drainage reports
At least five years of Civil 3D or CAD design experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of HEC-RAS is a plus
BS or MA in Civil Engineering or a relevant field
