THE ROLE: SENIOR CAD TECHNICIAN

The Senior CAD Technician is responsible for producing and coordinating high-quality engineering drawings and design deliverables across a range of water and wastewater projects.

Working closely with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process and ICA Engineers, the role provides technical drafting expertise, supports project delivery and helps maintain drawing standards across the business. The position also contributes to project outcomes, supports junior engineers and helps drive design quality across multidisciplinary teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Produce high-quality engineering drawings and design deliverables across water and wastewater projects.


• Coordinate engineering drawings and design deliverables.


• Provide technical drafting expertise to support project delivery.


• Work closely with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process and ICA Engineers.


• Maintain engineering drawing standards across the business.


• Support the delivery of major water and wastewater non-infrastructure projects.


• Contribute to project outcomes across multidisciplinary teams.


• Support and mentor junior engineers.


• Drive design quality across multidisciplinary teams.

ABOUT YOU

• 5 years’ experience in a CAD Technician role, ideally within the water, utilities, infrastructure or engineering sectors.


• HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, CAD, Design or a related discipline.


• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.


• Experience producing detailed engineering drawings for multidisciplinary projects.


• Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards and conventions.


• Experience managing multiple projects and prioritising workload effectively.


• Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance skills.


• Good communication and collaboration skills.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
