About the Role:

We’re seeking an experienced and driven Senior Fire Protection Engineer to take on the role of Senior Project Manager – Healthcare within a highly respected and growing fire protection consultancy. This is a senior leadership opportunity ideal for someone who wants to combine their technical expertise in fire protection and code consulting with the ability to lead a portfolio of healthcare projects and shape the direction of a business unit.

Based ideally in the Northeast U.S., this role can also be remote for the right individual with strong industry experience and leadership capabilities.

Your Responsibilities:

Serve as the technical and project lead on healthcare-related fire protection engineering projects

Oversee code consulting, system design, and life safety strategy development in complex medical environments

Manage the full project lifecycle, from proposal and planning to delivery and close-out

Lead client relationships and coordinate with AHJs, architects, and MEP teams

Act as the business unit leader for healthcare projects — driving technical delivery, client satisfaction, and team performance

Support strategic growth through mentorship, internal leadership, and optionally business development

‍ Provide guidance to junior engineers, support hiring, and contribute to resource planning

What We’re Looking For:

✅ 10+ years of experience in fire protection engineering, with a strong background in healthcare facilities

✅ Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Fire Protection (or ability to obtain)

✅ Deep knowledge of NFPA 101, NFPA 99, NFPA 13, 72, and healthcare compliance codes

✅ Experience managing multiple high-value projects and mentoring teams

✅ Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to represent the firm at a senior level

✅ Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and calculation software (HydraCALC, AlarmCAD, etc.)

✅ Ideally based in the Northeast U.S., but remote candidates with the right profile will be considered
