Job Description - Systems Developer (Journeyman)

BDR Solutions, LLC, (BDR) supports the U.S. Federal Government in successfully achieving its mission and goals. Our service and solution delivery starts with understanding each client's end-state, and then seamlessly integrating within each Agency's organization to improve and enhance business and technical operations and deployments.

BDR is seeking a Systems Developer (Journeyman) to join our growing team! This position is fully remote on government-furnished equipment, with core hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm Eastern.

Role Overview

Designs, develops, and unit-tests custom interfaces, extensions, and integrations for the Oracle Cloud EPM solution, supporting build and release activities within the Agile development framework.

Key Duties

  • Build and unit-test inbound data interfaces and automated load routines that run at least daily
  • Develop data transformation, validation, and error-handling logic for source feeds
  • Develop scripts and automation for EPM data loads, metadata updates, and scheduled jobs
  • Write automated unit and integration tests as part of each sprint
  • Store configuration and credentials in encrypted credential management, never in source code
  • Fix defects found in system integration testing and user acceptance testing
  • Document interface designs and runbooks

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of software/interface development experience
  • Experience with API-based integrations and middleware
  • Agile/Scrum delivery experience
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (for example, Python, Java, or Groovy) and SQL
  • Experience with REST APIs, file-based integrations (such as SFTP), and data transformation
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 2 background investigation and CAC eligibility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA) or Military Health System (MHS)
  • Oracle EPM data integration or EPM Automate experience
  • MuleSoft or similar middleware experience
  • Experience integrating with DoD financial or personnel systems

The compensation range for this position is $135,000 to $150,000. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to location, skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

In addition, U.S Citizenship is required. Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance. Individuals may also be subject to a background investigation including, but not limited to criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.
