Rendering Superintendent

Primary Purpose

Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Rendering plant. Responsible for receiving raw materials as well as timely loading for customers.

Work Schedule

Sunday–Wednesday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with a rotation to Thursday–Sunday every four months.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Monitoring and supervising activities and executing daily initiatives to meet operational, environmental and safety goals.
2. Troubleshooting operational issues and having the knowledge to take appropriate action(s).
3. Training, retention, development, direction and support to the Rendering employees. Overseeing continuous cross-training programs to build competencies and add breadth and depth to the team.
4. Completing daily operational reports and monitoring completed reports, checking for accuracy and taking any corrective action as necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred in a relevant field.
• On-the-job training (OJT).
• Minimum 5 years of demonstrated supervisory/management experience.
• 3 – 5 years’ Rendering experience.
• Preventive Controllers Qualified Individual (PCQI) – risk-based prevention system recognized by FDA.
• Must be able to make sound decisions as it related to plant, safety, environmental and product quality.
• Must have a technical understanding of plant operation software, equipment and process.
• This position is available 1 shift out of 4.
• Maintains flexibility to help supervise other shifts as needed
