Repair Technician - Pump / Rotating Equipment

Ford-Gelatt, a SunSource Company and leading distributor and repair center of process pumps and components in the fluid process market, is currently seeking a Pump Mechanic for our Baton Rouge, LA repair facility.

We're looking for an energetic, self-driven and highly technical individual to join our Repair team.

• Assemble, test, trouble-shoot, service and repair a wide variety of pumps, gearboxes and other rotating process equipment, using drawings, schematics, manuals and diagnostic equipment
• Inspect parts and various components to determine if they are repairable
• Provide complete service report and repair recommendations
• Diagnose problems and recommendations for repair 
• Specify parts and labor required to repair for quotation purposes
• Assemble units according to manufacturer specifications and tolerances
• Clean, organize and maintain shop and shop equipment
• Participate in continuous improvement through training and associate development
• Various other responsibilities around facility as needed

• Mechanical pump or rotating equipment experience
• Vo-tech or other additional technical training is a plus
• 5+ years in industrial environment
• Additional welding and/or machining skills is a plus
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret schematics
• Ability to work under pressure and handle daily changes in schedule and priorities
• Must be able to stand for majority of workday and lift up to 75 lbs
