| Job Description | Overall Responsibility: | |
| Resident Engineering services of a wide range of unique and interesting projects including parks, playgrounds, sitework and building construction. The Resident Engineer / Inspector serves as the bridge between the Designer and Contractor, facilitating the successful completion of the construction project. | ||
| Key Areas of Responsibility | ||
| 1. The Resident Engineer will assist in the inspection and monitoring of construction progress, verify quantities and ensure compliance to engineering plans, specifications and construction and safety standards. | ||
| 2. Your days will spent on-site in the field reviewing plans and specifications for the construction operations being performed. | ||
| 3. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to bring innovation, collaboration and technological advancement to assist our client's in delivering complex projects. | ||
| Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | ||
| 1. Experience performing Resident Engineering services of parks, playgrounds, green infrastructure, earthwork, concrete and/or asphalt paving construction, drainage and utility construction, site lighting construction and small building construction. | ||
| 2. Experience overseeing the wholistic construction process from tracking submittals and RFI's, to scheduling, daily reporting, progress meetings, recommending and directing contractor work, monitoring and recording unit item contract work, evaluating change orders and managing the adherence to the plans and specifications. | ||
| 3. Excellent English language skills, written and verbal. | ||
| 4. Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office and Excel. | ||
| 5. Experience using Project Management software. | ||
| Work Experience Requirements | ||
| A minimum of five (5) years of park, playground, sitework and building construction inspection and general work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above. | ||
| Additional Requirements | Certifications | |
| OSHA 30-Hour Certificate, Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Architecture, and NYC Parks playground experience REQUIRED. |
