Residential Assistant Maintenance Manager

Job Description
We are seeking an Assistant Residential Maintenance Manager for our multifamily housing community in Mundelein, Illinois. Our maintenance personnel are a vital part of the property management team. In this role, you will work closely with our Service and Community Managers to manage the community's day-to-day operations.
You will help to oversee and manage the service team to ensure outstanding resident service and maintain all mechanical systems. This position requires a hands-on leader who is committed to maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-maintained community environment.
Our compensation range is $28 to $30/hr., commensurate with experience and skill level, plus commissions and quarterly bonus potential.

Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily service team operations.
- Oversee and perform maintenance requests and ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Assist with unit turns to ensure units are move-in ready and deadlines are met.
- Maintain and repair mechanical systems, with a focus on plumbing and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with Service and Community Managers to uphold community standards and resident satisfaction.
- Help train, mentor, and support maintenance staff to foster a cooperative and positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and property policies.
- Participate in inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
- Be willing to participate in a rotating, emergency on-call schedule.
- Assist with 24/7 snow removal in the winter months.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years in multifamily housing with advanced knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
- Experience in service management within a residential community or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively to create a positive and cooperative work environment.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
